Regaine (Minoxidil)
Regaine is the brand name for Minoxidil in the UK. Minoxidil increases the duration of the hair follicle growth cycle (known as the anagen phase). Regaine is now available without prescription from maxpharm.co.uk for the treatment of male pattern baldness (androgenic alopecia).
Male pattern baldness is a common condition, where men experience thinning on the top of the head and/or the middle of the head. This condition starts normally in the mid to late 20s.
Maxpharm.co.uk, sell Minoxidil (extra strength) 5%, this must not be used by women or children. Regaine needs to be applied either once or twice a day, and can be used indefinitely. To achieve maximum effect the solution should be in contact with the scalp for at least 4 hours before allowing the hair to get wet. Minoxidil stimulates hair folicles and growth, it does not reduce DHT as with Propecia or Avodart.
Will Regaine work for me
Minoxidil works differently for different people, and can be used indefinitely for continued support of existing hair follicles and for the maintenance of any hair regrowth. Minoxidil is less effective when there is a large area of hair loss. It also been proven to work on younger men who have experienced hair loss for less than 5 years.
What if I stop taking Regaine
Once you stop taking Regaine, the effects of the medication wear off in around 3 months and the previous rate of hair loss resumes. When Minoxidil is restarted any further hair that is lost during the period of inactivity will generally not regrow, so it is best to use the product continuously.
Regaine Prescription
Regaine (Minoxidil) is available without prescription but must only be used on the scalp.
Regaine Side Effects
As with all prescription medication there can be side adverse side effects. The most common side effects of Minoxidil include irritation of the eyes, itchy or redness where treatment is used. Users of regaine should stop treatment and seek medical advise if they have the following; severe rashes; difficulty breathing; tightness or pain in chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips or tongue; dizziness.
