Xenical (Orlistat)

Xenical is a treatment for weight loss, it works as a fat blocker, which can block up to 30% of fat from your daily food intake. It has been designed to work in conjunction with a supervised reduced calorie diet. Xenical also reduces blood pressure (modestly) and can help prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes.

Orlistat is very effective in promoting weight loss (though modest). Data pooled from clinical trials indicated that people that made lifestyle changes, such as diet and exercise combined with Orlistat lost an extra 2-3kg, against those that did not take the drug over a course of a year.

Will Xenical work for me

As suggested above, Xenical is not a miracle cure for obesity, it simply stops some fat being absorbed into your body. A good healthy diet along with regular exercise will help you see the benefit a lot quicker. Always check with a doctor or a physical trainer before starting new exercise routines.

How to take Xenical

Always take Xenical exactly as your doctor has told you. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The usual dose of Xenical is one 120 mg capsule taken with each of the three main meals per day. It can be taken immediately before, during a meal or up to one hour after a meal. The capsule should be swallowed with water.

What if I stop taking Xenical

Avoid eating foods that are high in fat, your body will start to absorb fat again.

Xenical Prescription

Xenical is only available using a valid prescription; in the UK it is legal to complete an online medical questionnaire. It is then reviewed by a registered doctor to verify that the product is suitable for the patient with the given answers. The online medical will only take a few minutes to complete but must be done with honestly.
